Join us at Pandemonium for a special demonstration of  Star Wars: Rebellion in honor of the May 4th weekend! You’re especially welcome if you’ve never before played hobby board games (and are curious about where to start), but know that this is a longer session (4-5 hours), and the game can change a bit based in player count (see below).

WHAT IS THIS GAME ABOUT?

Star Wars: Rebellion is a head-to-head team game, where one group of players controls the Galactic Empire and the other plays the Rebel Alliance. 

The Empire’s mission is to use its forces to subjugate planets and find the rebellion’s hidden base; the rebels are doing their best to keep the base hidden while running sting operations against the empire in an attempt to turn galactic sympathy towards their cause. 

It is a game of emotional highs and lows, and if you ever wanted to tell your own version of the stories of this era in Star Wars history, this is a game worth trying (especially if you have the time!).

LOGISTICS

By and large, reviewers and the Internet state that this game is best for two players. Nevertheless, the game can play with 3 or even 4 players in the following configurations:

• 2 players: one Empire player and one Rebellion player 

• 3 players: two Empire players (“General” controlling land units; “Admiral” controlling space) and one very harried Rebel (doing everything alone)

• 4 players: 2 vs. 2, with the roles broken as in the Empire above. 

In addition, there is a very popular expansion for the game that some veteran players consider essential. We’ll have that option available for players to consider (but we don’t want to throw in too many rules on top of the base game!). 

So if that sounds like something you’d want to try, do sign up for the event! For big games like this (price-wise and rules-wise), we like to demo them so you can tell if it’s really for you and your group, but we also demo smaller games semi-regularly as well. Our Events Calendar will indicate future events on Saturday and Sunday where you can read (shorter) descriptions of what to expect. RULES FOR ATTENDING: 

 

• Proof of vaccination is no longer required. If COVID levels rise, masking will be required. We will make an announcement about this on our website and social media if re-instated. 
  Photos may be taken at events to be used in our social media or promotional materials. Please inform the staff member running the event if you do not want your photo taken.
• Advance online registration is required.
• Anyone not registered in an ongoing event will not be allowed in the event space to maintain capacity limits.
• No food will be allowed in our event space for the time being. Drinking is allowed.
